This one was great fun to work with. I had started with an idyllic turquoise water, but it was too unrealistic, so I changed it to an installed sea water material from Bryce. It was too dark. I tried putting another plane under it with a light color apo flame on it, to reflect up through the transparent water. That didn't work, and I tried raising the brighter layer up closer and closer to the seawater layer. Nothing showed through until I got it at the very same height as the seawater layer. The "bump" of the waves disappeared, but the pattern of the apo plane showed up, distorted just a bit. Tried putting the waves back in, but it lost the 'magic' that this water has. Hope you like the effect.
Bryce with a couple objects from Archive 3d.

Very beautiful!:)

This is marvelous. It is amazing to hear the process you went thru trying to get the water the way you wanted it. that sounds like how I work when trying several things before I am happy with a result.

Really cool work.

Beautiful image and lighting. Love the effect in the water. Great reflections. Have you tried to make the water more transparent? Then you could get some movement in the water, too. Corrie

Absolutely Fantastic!!!

Corrie....don't I feel stupid. It's like fighting all day to figure out why the television won't work, but never checking to see if it's plugged into the wall. I played with every factor except the transparency. Cannot possibly tell you why.

I so know what you were trying to explain as I too have tried and failed on several occasion to get a texture to come to life the way my imagination would vision it....Just to say your trial and error here paid off IMO!

Wonderful scene and the water is just great in combination with that APO! I so know your feeling about not getting the most obvious idea to achieve what I want, lol! I'm quite sure that Corrie's solution is the right one.
