Here in the words of the artist:
This installation is the response to the issue of refugee boat people. The boats interior surfaces are inserted with negative castings of human portraits. These portraits are simultaneously absent and mysteriously visible through the semi transparent surface of the glass. I intend to counteract the desensitising viewing of the recurring stereotypical media representations of the refugee and I am interested to challenge the illusion of the fear of invasion.
