Description
There was and orange glowing ring around the moon last night which i have never seen this before but later on when i went back out it became a very large ring around it and not as beautiful as the first one.

There must be a reason that there is a ring around the moon, like when I saw a ring around the sun. It's a cool shot and sometimes looks a bit eerie...but still it's a cool shot.

I grew up in NYC & never saw a ring around the moon until I was 17 (45 years ago!). My college roommate & I went out into the woods to smoke our very first joint ever (my friend had sent it to us tucked into an envelope from California) & we looked up & saw this bright orange ring around the moon, with a pale blue circle of clouds within it. We weren't sure if we were hallucinating or not. Have seen many more since then, though I've never photographed one. Nice capture...

Here there is the belief that when there is a ring around the moon, there will be an earthquake. One appeared a few days ago and my son, who had never seen one, was concerned. I told him that if he wanted to wait for the earthquake seek a comfortable chair. He still is waiting. Splendid capture!

Awesome capture... I have saw a few of these never got a pic of one tho......... I think its neat............how odd to read the above quote....an earthquake? never heard of that one before..... love it bear with me trying to learn how to use this new laptop i splurged on hugs susan~

A super capture! My mother used to call this the winter moon but us kids always thought it was a cloudy night with a full moon.
