Description

This camera is almost 60 years old. Herewith my father took pictures of me when I was a baby. In the early seventies he gave it to me as a gift, so I learned to photograph. Some effects added in Photoshop, just for fun. Thanks for viewing.

It was a very nice German fellow that managed our photo lab at Spinelli in Mannheim that got me started towards professional photography. Unlike others, I cut my teeth on medium and large format cameras even before buying my first 35mm! It was in Heidelberg shooting everything that moved where I honed my initial skills and fostered a love of history and photography that has lasted a lifetime. I still love those great old cameras of the era like the one you shared here! I wish we had met when I was over your way back then...

What a great gift from your father. You must be proud! My father had a Varex Exacta, made in Dresden. He did not give it to me, so I had to steal it, and I informed him that it was my legacy and to forget about it. Grumbled a bit, but finally accepted the fact. Excellent capture and great PW.!
