It was just a foto, an old one, printed on paper. Eiji showed it to her the other day. "That's my older brother, Sho..." he said. "Everything started with him. He raised me after our parents were gone. He was a skilled fighter, trained me and your dad back then." She noticed a hint of bitterness in his voice. "One day, he just left. And I went after him, only to find out, that he had joined the Soshiki, his new job included the murder of Kayins father, your grandfather...so I had to make up my mind, choose a side. I decided to fight him and help my friend." Naru watched the picture, studied the lines of the mans face. There was no hint in his eyes, that he was a murder, one of the Soshikis assassins. It was strange. He looked young and tired and she saw the resemblance to his younger brother. But otherwise, she saw nothing. "What happened to him?" Eiji was silent. The memories seemed to be as sharp as a sword, mingled with heavy emotions. She felt uneasy. "He is dead." Eiji stated. "There was no other way." again she took a long look at the strangers face.
