Description

This is not the End Nor is it the Begining. Life goes on ~ Within you and without you. Worlds begin and end Each and every moment: Babies are born, people pass on; New regimes and empires Rise and fall. Worlds begin and end Each and every moment. Each of us is a world within a world, And unique from all other worlds around us. There is a world within each one, And the common world without. One is a microcosm of a greater microcosm Of the macrocosm. As above, so below. The world without begins and ends Each moment as people are born and die; As people change and times change... As people become enlightened, Or fall further into the morass of corruption. Broken promises, broken hearts, broken minds, broken bones - They all change our world within, As well as the world without. This is not the End Nor is it the Begining. Life goes on ~ Within you and without you. (C) 2012, R. Navarro ***** I often wonder how many people will wake up on December 22, 2012 and be disappointed everything's still here, just like always. I think there's an 'After the Apocalypse Party' on FB - lol. I also often wonder why so many people need to believe the world is going to end. How many times in the last 2000 years has the world been going to end? I lost track. Very few seem to be aware that more of the Mayan Long Count calendar has been found in Xultun and: "The ancient Maya predicted the world would continue – that 7,000 years from now, things would be exactly like this. We keep looking for endings. The Maya were looking for a guarantee that nothing would change. It's an entirely different mindset." [2012 Phenomenon ~ Wikipedia] Also, it is most likely that the Maya did not invent their calendrical system - they carried them on from the Olmec. A lot of other things may change, but that *is* the only constant in life. So, live in the moment and smile. ***** Character is SRG_Clay (YURDigital) Outfit is Midnight Cowboy (DAZ) Hair is SAV's Kouros (RMP) Thanks for your comments dear friends! I like the lighting in this Ray, cool image and profound thoughts! I agree nothing will change except the date on that day.

Clay looks great here but then when would this guy ever look bad? That is bad in a bad way, not bad in a good way. Astute words in all respects. Often pointed out that the Mayan calander everyone was counting on simply ran out of space, but not necessarily out of time. Kinda like just because you reach December 31 on your paper calander doesn't mean there is no new year in the real world.

LOL, I often wonder that myself--like--if something did happen I am almost sure it would be a coincidence and have nothing to do with any prophesy-- Would this make numnuts stop making guesses? Meh. Until the world actually does end they will continent to postulate its end. Awesome image of Clay by the way--smouldering, dark and sensual.

I've heard and read so many different things about the 2012 prophesy. End of the world, alien invasions, spiritual awakenings, ad infinitum ad nauseum!! I'd like to apply Ocham's Razor to the whole thing and just say that maybe the Mayan's got fed up counting! "Okay, we've given them thousands of years worth of dates. Surely they'll have figured out their own system of doing this by the time ours runs out! Screw this calender thing, lets all go and get drunk!" If nothing happens then life goes on, as your poem says. If something does happen then what can we do about it? Nothing. Anyway, the world better bloody not come to an end - it's where I keep all my stuff! Plus, I've got sh*t to do and the world ending would really put a kink in my plans. So if Death and the other Horsemen are getting ready to pay us a visit then I hope they are prepared for the ass kicking I'm gonna give 'em! :)

Great image! I guess people should hold off on spending money on Xmas gifts until the 23rd... you know, just in case :^P I used to work with a girl who, during another apocolypse date, actually went and bought new pyjamas, had her hair done, and made sure looked gorgeous for when the world ended and Jesus came to get her. Naturally, she was a little miffed she spent all that money to wake up the next morning and find the world hadn't exploded!

Fantastic render! I'm with Zander. I've got too much to do to have an End-of-the-World thing. I'm just getting the hang of Poser, the cobwebs will take a week to clear from the house, not to mention mopping and laundry and I need a haircut! If they want me they're just gonna have to move the date a few months.

You stand a better chance of getting hit with space debris (like old out dated satellites) than this calendar coming to and end...Worry about Nibiru which has a more probability than the other.....

Your character Clay is for us already timeless, there is no Maya calendar who can change that! Your words are philosophic and I can find myselve in them. The image is powerful! Gr.Rudy.

Wise words and great character render! The problem with predicting the end of the world is if your wrong your credibility is shot. If your right its hard to be smug with no one to congratulate you.

Right on! Talk about a little knowledge being dangerous. People never look at the big picture and/or the cycle the ancients mapped and measured. The Mayan calendar starts before there were Mayans, but no doomsday prophets want to look into this or try to understand how the solar system is orbiting a galactic black hole and passes roughly the same point every 26,000 years. And....I could just go on forever. The Book of Daniel, The Revelation of John, Ragnarok, etc. Ironically it will never end! LOL!!! Beautifully composed words. Great portrait. He must be one of your favorites ;)

Well, first of all Ray, let me say the artwork is as always most excellent! Once again you've made Clay look really awesome! And I fully expect to see a lot more renders of him in 2013! :-) I really love your poem too; it appears you are a font of talent, my friend! Yeah, I think I'm going to run out and max out all my credit cards, go into my boss's office, and poop on his desk, run down the street naked, and… Well, you get the picture… :-) I have to say I got a pretty good chuckle out of Alex! From what I understand from the very limited non-sensationalist information about 2012, there appears to be nothing - no bizarre alignment of the planets, no reversal of the earth's magnetic poles, no rogue planets that are going to crash into the earth, no asteroids headed our way, and I've not heard anything about any alien fleets; no Cylons coming to destroy us. So yeah, I think we'll all wake up on December 22, yawn, and go for our morning coffee, just like always.
