"Fretless Road" (first posted in June 2007)
Last night, I happened to be listening to the late great bassist Jaco Pastorius and had some questions about dates, so I looked him up on Wikipedia. The first thing I saw was that he was born Dec. 1, 1951 (about 4 months before me). So it seemed appropriate to post this again to honor Jaco's birthday.
Jaco passed away in 1987 and like Hendrix and all the other musical geniuses that died too early, I always wonder what he would have been creating now, with another 25 years of playing.

great tribute...Saw Jaco play with Joanie Mitchell, in 1979 I think, in Vancouver...Pat Methany on guitar. She gave everyone a 20 min. solo in the 2nd half of the show....The loss of Jaco was indeed huge....
