Description
This is a star cluster in Perseus, "NGC884 and NGC869" The double cluster appears as a beautiful assemblage of bright stars located in a rich star field that is dominated by bright blue stars and a few orange stars that add to the visual interest. I like the stars on the right that form a winding pattern. Both clusters together offer a spectacular low magnification view through any telescope. Thanks for viewing.

I'm constantly in awe of your beautiful space photography. That you're capturing the real universe makes it even more wonderful. I love how you've really caught the wonderful colors to these stars!

I second the good Dr. O. It's amazing (especially for those of us who LOVE science fiction) to see the inspiration of such fictions in...well...the REAL universe: the real world! And there's such incredible beauty in images like this. I particularly like whole range of star types in this single shot. You go from red-cold to blue-hot, but subtly so: making the whole thing look like a smattering of jewels, spilled from a giant's purse. Marvelous!

This is fantastic. I was hoping to do some imaging tonight myself but it's just clouded over. Grrr... How many images did it take to get this result?
