Der Berliner Dom im Winter
Der 1894 bis 1905 nach Plänen von Julius Raschdorff in Anlehnung an die italienische Hochrenaissance und den Barock errichtete Dom gehört zu den bedeutendsten protestantischen Kirchenbauten in Deutschland.
Die Gesamthöhe beträgt heute 116 Meter auf einer Grundfläche von 114 × 73 Metern. Die Kuppel besitzt eine Scheitelhöhe von 74,8 Metern bei einem Durchmesser von 33 Metern.
Er ist - für mich - die schönste Sehenswürdigkeit des alten Berlins. Zu dem jährlich stattfindenden "Festival of Light" drängen sich tausende Menschen, um dieses Motiv festzuhalten. Es ist ein Meisterwerk von alter Architektur. Im Krieg fast zerstört. Die Rekonstruktion und Restaurierung dauerte über 25 Jahre (1975-2002).

important Protestant churches in Germany.
The total height is now 116 meters over an area of 114 x 73 meters. The dome has a peak height of 74.8 meters and a diameter of 33 meters.
He is - for me - the most beautiful sight of the old Berlin. To the
annual "Festival of Light" crowd of thousands of people to capture this image. It is a masterpiece of old architecture. In 2. world war substantially destroyed. The reconstruction and restoration lasted over 25 years (1975-2002).

Beautiful image. The dark clouds add drama to the image. I remember the cathedral from my (only) visit to Berlin in 2007. Unfortunately I had no money so I couldn't pay the entrance fee. But I got some nice photos of the outside. Keep up the good work! :-)

ich wollte eigentlich mal ein grosses kompliment an deutschland weitergeben. wenn man bedenkt ,die hunderttausende tonnen bommben der allierten,was alles zerstört wurde,und wieder aufgebaut und wie hier restauriert. es gibt noch länder die haben den müll vom ersten weltkrieg noch nicht mal aufgeräumt lach. deutsche gründlichkeit,erfindergeist,präzision,und ein ungeheurer ueberlebens wille haben deutschland wieder gross gemacht. nur den nazi komplex solte deutschland mal endlich auf den müll schmeissen. oder zahlen etwa die spanier den lateinamerikanern reparaturzahlungen weil sie ganze zivilisationen ausgerottet haben ? oder portugal an brasilien ?oder die anderen "hunnen" die sich einfach alles einverleibt haben??.. ach ja verzeihung hatte vergessen dass der sieger diktiert und die geschichte schreibt (damit er ja vorteilhaft aussieht) wolte das mal gesagt haben kopf hoch leute,auch wenn der hals dreckig ist hihihi.

This is the way HDR should look, enhancing the quality and detail and giving richness to the colors that are already there. This is a wonderfully balanced and yet very dramatic composition. I really love the blue and gray tones of the building.
