My name is Clive, resident in Cape Town, South Africa. I am an amateur photographer who has been enjoying the medium in a more serious manner since 2003.
I took a trip to the UK armed with a Minolta Maxxum 7000 that I had inherited from my Dad.
Out of the holiday snaps, I managed to get a few that I felt were quite good, but had no idea of how I managed to get them 'right'.
Since then I have done a couple of courses in the darkroom and joined a local photographic society where I was on the committee for a while.
Hopefully I am getting it 'right' more often these days.
I have a Minolta Maxxum 7 and being tied into the lens system, the Sony A100 DSLR was my introduction to the digital world. This has recently been upgraded to the Alpha SLT-A55 and I have to admit that I have shot more digital in the last five years than film!
My daughter Kristen (Kris10) and son Sean (fotoSean) have accounts here too, in the hope that they will learn too and share my passion! Sadly they have been rather quiet of late, much like their dad...
August 2015 marks the end of my 3 years as coordinator for the Photographic section of Renderosity. What a wonderful time of my life that I thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you all for the opportunity!
Keep the smile alive,
Clive

maybe shoes are so plentiful there that one does not have to worry about shoe theft! on the other hand...it could be that the shoes smell so bad that no thief would dare touch them. Great shot

I would sleep with my bag chained to me! This is a great stolen shot!

I'm with you, although I doubt I'd be able to sleep under these circumstances! Excellent candid shot, and I'm glad they found the leak before you took off!

Been there, done that, do NOT ever want to sleep in another airport or bus depot again!!! Great shot, glad you made it out of there.

Ugh that was the worst part of my trip...ok and the nasty New Yorkers

I'd sleep with my shoes on, my stuff chained to me, and with my mouth closed...but still, this is a fantastic shot! Quite a high sneak-factor shot, and it drew a smile across my face. Wonderful work.

I probably wouldn't sleep a wink! I do like it that the chairs have footrests, though. Very civilized!

I'm an insomniac so it wouldn't matter whether my shoes were on or off. lol

Yep, I'm with Rose there.. I've had a couple of over-nighters! Oh! The pain!.. Over a day to get to my destination in the U.S and its the East Coast! Most of it, hold ups and lay overs.. I don't envy you.. I so look forward to my next trip lol Nice candid mate.. Rob

Indeed great chairs to take a rest in. I love the carpet, and of course your (kind of) candid shot, Clive. Don't know if I would have shoes on, or not. The main thing is: I can sleep. (I'm an insomniac too)
