Description

Thank you for stopping for a closer look. Any and all comments are welcome and appreciated. While doing a tour of the cruise ship the Norwegion Sun, I was amazed how much the bridge resembles the bridge of the Enterprize on Star Trek. The big suprize to me is, if you look at the small inset on the lower right, an arrow is pointing at a tiny toggle switch. That is how the captain steers the ship. Gone are the days when you had a giant wheel that took two hands to turn, now it is like a small video game. Jim

Amazing to think the fate of this behemoth and all aboard lies solely in that tiny little toggle switch...Amazing....Thanks Jim for showing those that will never get a chance to ever take a cruise(like me)in their life time a little behind the scenes look at what goes on inside the captains cabin. And yes...Does have similarities to the U.S.S Enterprise.... ~Smiles~

Now if the captain isn't "entertaining" his lady friend, you are in good shape. LOL Interesting info.

Thanks for going the tour Jim. The 3.5 hours would have been to much for me. Wow what a room, all those buttons and gagets look interesting. How awesome to see what the Captain has to work with. Thanks for sharing this wonderful photo and most interesting information. Love and Hugs. Glenda.

An excellent capture of this very modern bridge. It is hard to believe that you can steer such a big ship with just that little lever. I hope it doesn't break.
