Description

Modeled in 3dsMax, rendered in LuxRender (v1.0). Began as a Hopf-Fibered Trefoil Tori, created directly in 3dsmax using Mathsurf 2.0, a plugin for 3dsmax which "uses the abilities of Maxscript to discover mathematical geometries from an aesthetic aspect". I'm no jeweler, but I know a few who people who are excellent modelers (mainly using Rhino), and immediately thought of them when the inspiration to transform this into a locket. The background is a ground plane, with "smoothstar" topology, with some extrusion and insetting applied to the N-gons.

Beautiful! The cord/chain for the locket is excellently done; I'm a jewelry maker and have seen chains very much like this in my catalogs. I'd love to wear a piece of jewelry like this.
