Description

My canine family. I have hardly taken any pictures recently what with the lack of invertebrates and not much interest in my garden. Things will perk up as soon as we get past the shortest day! I might get myself one of those 'SAD' lamps..have any of you tried one?

Superb capture Andrea. Do not know those type of lamps. I trust there will be help from Renderosity members regarding the lamp that you mentioned. God Bless.

Sad lamp? Is that the same as 'empty bottle'? Great to see the Fantastic Four again, they look sad! Clive

The one on the far left is the "lead singer" of the band, thus he/she is trying to look cool. One of those shots that make you say AWWWWWWE!! EXCELLENT!

Great looking group shot Andrea. I know it can be hard to organize such a group to all sit still and look at the same time. We have used lamps at work with folks diagnosed with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) It is not uncommon in the frozen north up here where elderly especially can not safely get outside even if it is sunny because of the cold. You should talk to a doctor first, there can be adverse effects from their use especially if not supervised. SAD can be quite debilitating and is well worth treating if it is present. Using a lightbox for many is a much better choice than going on an antidepressant medication due to side effects the medication has. One note of caution is if a person has bipolar disorder the doctor will never order use of a lightbox, because they can quickly push the person from the depression side of bipolar up into a manic state that is hard to control. Taking some additional vitamin D is also helpful in replenishing what you are missing from the lack of sunlight.

Just came inside after being out in the sun for a while. Luckily we have nice weather most of the time even in the winter. Classic shot of your "gang".

Awwww, they are so sweet!! I had a friend who bought one for her husband, she seemed to think it helped. You might try some vitamin D.

Love this family shot, they are all so good-looking! And much more well-behaved than my little monster (who woke me up every 2 hours last night, for no apparent reason).

The boys and Rosie must be highly trained in order to sit so still and pose for you as depicted in this superb family foto, A.

You have a gift for portraiture, and it manifests so nicely in your canine photography! This is amazing. I can't usually get ONE dog to look at the camera, let alone three out of four. This is great!

Ooh! Such a handsome gathering! They know it too! I have to agree with Tara, getting a dog to cooperate for a photo is quite a difficult task. I've tried with a couple of truck yard dogs and a particular bundle of kinetic energy named Molly, and all I got were dog shaped blurs, or extreme, blurred closeups of dog noses. Apparently canine people enjoy smelling camera lenses just as the shutter clicks. This is super. I feel the same way, too...I might also need one of those lamps. Luckily, Chicago had sunlight today...and it was a bit warmer, but still, no invertebrate people: not even an urban woodlouse. Oh, and you got me wondering if there are insect displays at indoor zoos! I need to check that out! This is a great shot. I love this couch committee.

Invertebrates? - lemme see! maybe a ticket to go and see 'Cirque du Soleil' or perhaps watch an episode of it - somewhere? - might be the answer ... well, I do try to cheer you up, because I have never heard of a SAD lamp? - on the other hand those furkids look like models, who have just come from a magazine shoot - 'All Stars' cast, been sitting under a SAD lamp ... Well dear friend, you got your group here in a perfect show. What great friends they are. (but indeed a bit tiered looking). Have you ever heard of the enzyme Q10? It gives extra energy, and is very good working at women, because often in women is found a shortage of that. It has no side effects, no further problems. 100 mg. per day to be taken in the morning. I take this since 4 days. Not that it fixes my PTSD symptoms, but in a way, I'd better go through the day. If you can, let me know your experience with it, please? It is not extremely expensive, about 10 euros for 40 days.

Probably my favorite photos in your gallery are those of your dogs. But that's because I do love dogs and cats. All in all, you have the best, most interesting photos. And of course if I could give this one twenty stars, I would. Your kids certainly pose like professional models for you, with wonderful expressions on their faces.
