I try to keep my gallery as non-political as possible, but have to make this statement as it is my belief the NRA is powerful mainly because many people are scared to speak out against them.
How many more innocent people have to die in horrific events like yesterday before the politicians in the USA grow some backbone and fightback against the strength of the NRA. The gun nuts have such a strong lobby that anyone that dares to call for gun control gets instantly shut down. Yesterday on CNN they were interviewing a police offical from where the shooting happened and as soon as he started saying we need to review gun laws, the station cut him off and went to show pictures they had already been showing over and over.
There is no justifyable reason anyone should ever own an assult weapon. They are not designed for hunting or target shooting, they are made for one reason only and that is to kill PEOPLE.
NRA idiots talk about the 2nd amendment to their constition gives them the right to own these weapons. When that amendement was written there was no such thing as automatic weapons and if there was I am positive they would not have been included in the amendment.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families of the lost children as well as the families of the adults lost in this ordeal.
A week ago there was a shooting in a shopping mall and now an elementary school. Who knows where the next one will be, but we can be positive, if the NRA keeps getting their way, there will be more stories like this and consistently of worse numbers.

I agree with you. The NRA is way to powerful. What would the president of the NRA do if one of his children was murdered in a school shooting? Why do the news media tend to focus on the shooter so much, don't name him just call his as he really was, a coward. My heart goes out to the victims and their families. May God hold them close in their time of need.

Hi Jim... I write this with tears in my eyes and my thoughts are with those directly effected and is my thoughts(rant)... No you are correct...More folks like you and I and so many many other feel the same as you concerning the NRA...For many years it didn't help that we had one of the most influential speakers and movie icons(Mr. Charlton Heston)that was the spokes person for NRA for so many years. So many grew up watching his movies and when he became the spokesperson people revered him as GOD....Yes when the 2nd amendment was drafted things like automatic weapon weren't even invented and believe it's time the amendment gets a major overhaul as times have changed and the very sad thing is that it has to take an event of such magnitude like yesterday and those prior to "WAKE UP" those that need to be woke up and see it don't apply to today's standards.Hearing yesterday that the NRA only commented by "EMAIL" and to say until all the info is collected that they have "NO COMMENT" which that in itself makes me bite the head off rusty nails!!..What turns my stomach with a response like that is they simply have there own agenda and do not care what happens when guns get in the wrong hands as such the case yesterday and so many other prior events.Yes as the old saying goes all it takes is a few bad apples or twisted individuals to ruin it for the the responsible owners. It happens in everything that takes place on this planet and my opinion is to bad so sad...It's not working so change the F#cking laws already before the next nut case off his medication goes and makes what happened yesterday seem like a walk in the park already.IMHO I believe automatic weapons should ONLY be allowed by law enforcement and the military and not be allowed by someone that has no business with them in the 1st place.Times have definitely changed and a new revised law and the way one can obtain them needs to be overhauled and it needs to happen NOW!...This tragedy may or may not have taken place but if the way one can own one has much much stricter laws then maybe just maybe we won't ever see something as tragic as yesterday ever happen again. Those were innocent children with a future and not a care in the world as it's suppose to be at that age and now look....Though I could write a novel on this subject I've said what I've come to say...Enough already... CHANGE THE DAMN LAWS ALREADY!!!!

Fantastic image to go with your powewful statement, Jim. I so agree with you! And they can yell about their 2nd amendment. But what about the right to safety for people? I really can't understand the thinking behind the gun laws. I agree with Will, too. It's a very sad time.. Corrie

Well I can't really see a coherence between the picture and your statement, but what I can say is that I absolutely agree with you Jim, and Will as well. Nice render too!

Fantastic fractal!!!

Since you want violence by guns banned then also ban the violent video games that our youth seem to be mezmerized by. Just my Thoughts.

I love the colors and forms of your Mb, Jim. And I'm too very speechless, that in USA it's permitted to buy guns. A shame!!! So much sadness. I am also very indignant, and I do not understand that in America they do not want to change this law. Just because one earns money by selling. Well, in my eyes, they sell the lives of innocent people. And now children, as well; I (we) are also shocked.

I totally agree with your sensible comments about the recent tragedy in Connecticut - the mandelbulb is strong and robust !

Great picture. And great message too. Yes, it was a terrific event. Also in Italy, we are deeply touched by such a tragedy, and everyone wonder why guns are so easily bought and kept at home in USA.

Exellent work.

I have to agree with you Jim, My heart goes out to the family of all the victims. xx

Don't blame the tool, blame the person who used it. If the guy had used, say, a chainsaw- would you be crying out for chainsaws to be banned? I doubt it. I firmly support the idea of having to undergo a thorough, rigorous mental health screening before being allowed to purchase a firearm of that kind of power, but to out-and-out ban them isn't a very smart idea. Please leave my constitutional rights alone.
greyone
There is a big difference!!!! If you use a chain saw for what it was designed for then no one is going to die but a tree. If you us an AK47, M16 or the like exactly as it is designed to be used, then people will die. They were designed to kill people. The gun enthusiasts will often say he could have used a knife, so are you wanting all knifes banned. There is no chance of mass murder on this scale using a knife or a chainsaw for that matter. Also I have never heard of someone with a knife standing on a roof across the road and killing people as he wishes like has happened in some of the sniper cases. This last fellow demonstrates exactly why there are so many mass murders in the states. They refuse to ever discuss the fact that guns are involved. Look at the theater masacre recently this one yesterday, the shooting where a congresswoman suffered brain damage and others were killed, Columbine and the list goes on and on and on. There is one common denominator in every case. That common point is the person used a gun, not a knife, not a chainsaw, and not sword.

Very interesting MB. work. The pillars looks so strong, powerful and resistant to damage. Amen on your comments about gun control. The innocent lives of young children or others should not be wiped out with the misuse of guns. Drive by shootings occur daily and innocent bystanders no longer stand to see the next day. Okay it is time USA to take a hard look at the other side of the Gun Laws. The NRA has had it's time- look at the results NOT GOOD to say the least.
JaneEden
This is so very sad, my heart is breaking to know what has happened, may God watch over all involved. hugs Jane xx

A super fractal and like Glenda these pillars look so strong. I agree about those gun laws in the USA they certainly need altering. We have strict laws here and even the police don't wear handguns, though to be fair we still do have some idiots around.
cricke49
no guns do i own, only an axe or two with six strings each, played by only me, yes i have a 'COLLECTION' of knives but that's all they are! Assault rifles should definitely be banned, course there are a lot of other things to ban as well, but violence makes money, in games, in movies, in drugs and in love! i am so ashamed to be linked to these assassins just by gender!:(
UteBigSmile
~ I'm speachless and so sad..... The 'gun nuts' have such a 'strong lobby' that anyone that dares to call for gun control gets instantly shut down: I agree!!!!
