I got into this song a few years back, and really, really wanted to do some artwork related to it, but I just couldn't find the headspace between commissions to get it right. Last night, I junked the old one and did the one I really wanted to do. :) *About the Picture I ended up reading about LemminkÃ¤inen today while I was making this, which is what the song 'Silent Waters' is actually about, and now know that the 'son' was a grown-up hero and his mother was the one who went and got him out of the river (and ultimately arranged to have him brought back to life). Not being massively well-read on my Finnish mythology (shame on me!), my version is just what I kept visualising when I heard the song.
