Description

'wonder what happens if I do that?' took longer to finish than many of my other abstracts because I was exploring Bryce settings in more depth than I've done before. There are three primary 'wonder whats' in Bryce. Using just three solid colors for the material, I played with specularity settings until I was happy with those results. From there, I started playing with anisotropy settings which I had never done before. VERY happy with the results, I rendered it full size. (BTW, solid colors were created in PSP because the color picker in Bryce irritates the h**l out of me!) Then I wondered what would happen if I turned off the gamma correction and rendered it again. Now I had TWO images I was happy with! What to do, what to do? Ah, layered them in Jasc PSP. Hmm, good but still wanted 'more'. Did a drop shadow on each layer. Not quite there. The I beveled each layer separately and you are looking at the final result. I really hope you like it and would love feed back on it. Oh, and if someone out there would take the time to explain to me exactly what anisotropy is and does in Bryce in VERY simple terms, with a minimal amount of 'geek speak' for a newbie, I sure would appreciate it! Displacement too! Thanks for past comments and favs! (no post render color adjustments)

A wonderful result and cool postwork. > solid colors were created in PSP because the color picker > in Bryce irritates the h**l out of me! Hint: Keep the ALT key pressed and then leftclick a Bryce color dot. Now you can enter/edit this color directly e.g. as RGB values.
