I have been into photography for over 40 years, and the pull doesnt lessen. As a family we have always been keen walkers, and that gets you to some interesting places.Ive recently been to Southern India as a member of an adult support team with our local community school to Chennai so the camera never cooled down i can tell you, (watch this space). I live in Chard South Somerset, and have fairly recently converted to digital, at first reluctantly, but now enthusiastically. Its great to hear others comments on your pictures and i am looking forward to loading up my space. Alan. Almost through my first week and inspiration levels have rocketed, thanks for all those comments they drive me on.

Sometimes I wonder about me: when I first saw this image, I thought: Ohh, look at the tree cast by that shadow! This is a brilliant, wonderfully relaxing shot. It feels like a casual stroll and it's visually appealing, especially in terms of the greens repeated in the grasses and in the lichens on the tree. This is super work!

A lovely clear capture and the tree makes a wonderful frame with its long shadow.

Good thing your town is in England and not Switzerland. Then we'd have to call it Swiss Chard.(sorry) Brilliant composition on this. The shadow of the tree leads the eye to the hedge in the distance which then leads the eye right to the town. And great framing with the tree and the shadow.

Great capture with low winter light

Fantastic composition; the curve of the shadow an tree makes a sweeping frame for the little town below. Beautiful work!
