Description
Saturday news reached me that one of my favo DJ's of a popular Radio station of the 1980's died at age 52.
It makes me sad. As we grow older, more and more of those we know "dissapear".. that's when you notice you do grow older..
And so a good year got a black line around it
This image is for him
Ger de Goede, Radio Stad Den Haag
but the image is alos for the Firemen of New York, who were killed in New York 24 december '12 ..
How horrible for all the families who stay behind

It's always depressing when someone we revere passes over. And it always brings to mind our own mortality. Excellent dedication.

The end is always staring us in the face and the older we get the more we see loved one leave, celebrities leave, friends and family pass. I always thought the worst nightmare I could live was to outlive everyone that I loved. In 2001 My Mom passed away and then my Wife of 20 years told me she didn't love me anymore - than I realized that was worse than outliving loved ones, cause she was going to be alive and didn't want to have nothing to do with me. Sometimes we know or think we know how bad something can get, and it's funny they can get a lot worse - we are just too blind at times to see it. ... I like your fireplace and the lighting effects - great job. and try not to feel old, we get older everyday and there are people out there that are active and they don't look their age - William Shatner, Mick Jagger... Chris the Boat boy - lol

Chris, you did an outstanding job on this very thoughtful and moving dedication. My heart goes out to all the people who have passed on and their families, and it is important to keep all of them in our prayers. Please try to have a Merry Christmas despite the sad news my friend

Sorry to learn of your loss and unsettled feelings as you realize afresh your own mortality. It is a sobering thought to know you must reckon with your Creator face to face one day. . . however, take cheer, as you celebrate Christmas tomorrow, that Jesus came to make a way for us to be able to live this life to the full (John chapter 10) and have peace about that final day ... I expect that this image would have been enjoyed by your DJ, and many here at Rendo, so kudos for your artwork too :)

Very beautiful and moody render you have done as tribute for one you cared for.. As Pewter7 says it so well, a reminder of our own mortality too. But we have to live on for the living arounds us, they need us. Merry Christmas.
