Description
...Early June in Southeastern Europe, during the decline of the last Iceage. After a succesful hunt, the hunters are welcomed back in their summer camp - the catch is a wild sheep.
- My depiction of an everyday sitution in a "Cro Magnon" (more correctly: "Anatomically modern humans") group of humans. These were NOT simple cave-dwellers, but already some 35.000 years ago lived in tents during the brief summer, knew how to make clothes with needles made from fishbones etc.
- My entry for the E-ON 2012 Environment Competition, character category. Didn't make it - I'm not too surprised, "last minute" decision to even make anything :) And this scene was an idea I've for some time, so I decided to use the competition as incentive to make it, quite complicated and a very heavy render, some 34 hrs. in 3000 px wide :)
Toolbox: Vue render, Poser, DAZ Studio and Photoshop.
Some have commented on the snow on the mountains looking too "little detailed" and "wrong", well, at first I had a normal "Vue-ish" noisy distribution, but after seeing some photos from the arctic tundra, I remade it - the snow tends to form much more blobby and patchy spots than a standard Vue mountain snow.

Another fine work in this series of tribes, villagers and family groupings from the past. The first thing I look at is the realistic posing you have done with everyday activities. I then start looking at your veg and the assortment you work out that always looks so natural. Great series and I hope there is more to come!

Marvelous work! Lots of detail to look at. Great composition. I agree with you on the snow. Peaks that are consistently covered with snow have build up, ice and snow shelves and can look bumpy due to snow accumulation. Looks good to me. Thanks for pointing me to your reeds too ;)
