Description
Well.. we survived another doomsday... So we should be thankful about the fact we were given a second chance. A second chance to right our wrongs... to rebuild what we've destroyed... to find that place inside of us where life matters more than money. A second chance to change, to make a difference, to believe again and pay more attention to things we just overlook and miss forever. A second chance to be nice instead of mean, to help instead of cause harm, to love instead of hate, to eliminate most "isms" of our lives such as sexism, elitism, racism and specicism and value life above all else cause this is the only one we get, the only world we get. I read somewhere that the biggest fear isn't that the world would end but that it would stay the same and I see truth in that... SO let's dust off and change it, for the better , one step at a time.

A nice image, sadly I find it difficult to believe in new beginnings. The last 10 years of my life has jaded me to that possibility, and I am all but on the streets and have been for about a year. All that said, I hope that your belief in humanity is the right belief. I used to believe in people and their ability to change themselves and the world. Not so much anymore. Still, I hope you have a great new year.

Fun, happy image!! And wise, wise thoughts, Ilona... this life is not a dress-rehearsal: we are on now! Let's show we love now! And we can do this in the littlest things: my daughter just -now- asked me to kill a spider (huntsman, rather large and surprisingly robust, as it turns out) in her bedroom this morning. I love her - not fond of spiders, though, close up - but I ended up capturing it in a towel. I was going to kill it but then I thought of the good spiders do and set it free in the back yard. I hope it realises her room is off limits. Still shaking from that... but my daughter and the spider are happy (well, I think the spider is happy... do insects have emotions?)... :-/
