Description

Ernst Lubitsch (1892-1947) was a German-American film director and actor. He received 1947 the Honorary Award OSCAR (Honorary Oscar for Excellence) Sculpture Artist: Jürgen Walter * Film Museum at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin The hand puppet was my eye-catcher for this picture and the two cigars!!

Ahh, Mister Lubitsch! "To be or not to be" is one of my favorite movies. It was remade by Mel Brooks some years ago. The puppet is a wonderful touch. I wonder what it symbolizes? Ahh, Mister Lubitsch! "Sein oder nicht sein" ist einer meiner Lieblingsfilme. Es war Remake von Mel Brooks vor einigen Jahren. Die Marionette ist eine nette Geste. Ich frage mich, was es symbolisiert?

Yes, and I don't understand the two cigars? I don't recall ever seeing a cigar chain-smoker. He does seem like I would imagine a cigar chain-smoker to look like, so perhaps that might explain his early death at age 55.
