I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Connecting the dots, lightwise. Capital clarity in this great shot of the illuminated pachyderm as it stands out in complete darkness, Carin.

Marvellous! I love the glow it casts on the surrounding shrubbery. The work they've done here is SO good! I'm thrilled to see these. I hope we'll be seeing more!

Oh, this is beautiful and it looks like he might be wearing an ostrich feather (well, it looks like an ostrich feather is just floating there above his head, as they do with lighthearted elephants, especially dancing lighthearted elephants like the god Ganesh...I love any god with the good sense to be an elephant.) I love the patterns the lights form in their little light-chains and I have to say that this elephant also has one seriously festive tail! We need these in Chicago. I'm sick of the same ol' reindeer, year after year, and it's bad because reindeer don't even live in Chicago. Why don't we have festive Chicago-native animals!? Maybe that's to existential a question for the end of the year, but there you have it. Are there more of these? If so, feel free to show 'em!
