Eternity The area is dark, cannot see my own hands. There is a smell of must and a cool breeze. The ground is solid, sounds like rock when stomped. There is an uneasiness rising, but it is quelled. That sound. Sounds like glass on metal. Scraping. Cold steel hit my face. What is it? Reaching out, small cold steel. Round, yet oblong. It's a link. A chain link. It seems to go up forever. Slowly, reach out arms wide. More chains, dangling. Still in the night. Silence, the mouse is heard in the corner. Sight is gone, but other senses heightened. Chain after chain, the emptiness goes on. No door, no window, no light. No sound. It's not fear i'm feeling. The hair on my arms and neck lay still. Faint echo in the air, i smile.
