Description

Just a little play I did a month back with a view out my window... I wish you all an inspired, light-filled year with much gratitude for all the love and support you've given me since I've come here. I'll be back soon Happy New Year! Mark (better full size)

Happy New Year to you! I suspect I'll spend at least a part of the new year writing, and so that's a good thing...that's my dream for 2013: to write, do more art, take things to the next level and, with Fate's cooperation, to get one step closer to Moscow, even if it means just taking one step in a northeasterly direction. In so many ways this image encapsulates that: I suspect that anyone looking at this will see their dreams, somehow. This is a city image after all, and cities are full of stories, dreams, aspirations, and other wonderful things (cities are also filled with beautiful monsters, but that's a ramble for another comment.) I like that this image encompasses so much. There's a calmness to it: a promise...in a sense it also makes me think in a post-apocalyptic way (in keeping with 2012, which had more than the normal share or publicized apocalypses!) But the thing about apocalypses is that they're never destructive, despite what misinterpretations tell us...they're just great-big-wonderful "ah-ha!" moments: the turning of a page, or in a metaphorical sense, massive house-cleaning. Ah, but what's more apocalyptic than throwing away that piece of Tupperware with mysterious, biologically-active contents with a penchant for getting fuzzy? Okay... ...enough rambling. What an image! I love the blue tones, the flares of light and the orbs, like something rising, or at least waiting. I love the city shapes, looming and black...probably hollow and expressing the same sense of anticipation as the darkened bubbles with light inside. There's definitely a sense of hopefullness to this image, a sense of contemplative patience, without the jangling noise of the city, despite the city's presence. Marvelous. This is making a trip into my favorites. Happy New Year to you!

I love what you did here; it's Chicago for sure, but with that little twist you do so well!! Makes me think of peaceful nights and warm days!!

Spectacular photography plus. And a great title...I'm dreaming just looking at this work of art. Soon to be midnight in Chicago! Here in Seattle the Space Needle erupts with fireworks at midnight...still more than two hours to go. Here's to you Mark...clink...clink:)

Ahhhh ... I see I'm in good company. :) I like the depth of this image. The orbs seem layered, and there's a pull toward what is probably the actual sun. Past the flat city cutout, past the next layer, past the orbs, and into the sky, into the future. It's a compelling vision, and it makes me think about that future in a sort of concrete way. Like ... if I follow that path, into the light, I'll come out in ... tomorrow morning! :P Sometimes life is like that, for which I am grateful. It's when the wonderful mood intersects with reality that we tend to learn something important. Happy New Year to you, dear friend! I hope 2013 brings you good health, just the right amount of creativity, and enough energy and time to do everything you'd love to do. Hugs from the Coast ... :)

What a beautiful, cheerful and orbful ;-) Image. I really love what you have done to this shot taken from your own window. I have told you before I love your orbs. The symbol for light. Light in life, in the soul, hope. That´s how I see them and I think that is how you see them too. I wish you a very Happy, Healthy and creative New Year, dear Mark. I wish you many orbs in your life in 2013.

Awesome manipulation of these strange elements in this cool deep abstract, Mark. It suggests visitors from a more advanced civilization from another planet on a visit to Chicago in the middle of the night. Fine quasi silhouetting, lighting, and color in this image. Have a problem-free and trouble-free 2013!

I see the future here, or at least what I've always believed the future would be. Isn't it interesting when we learn that the future isn't then, it's now? Beautiful work, Mark. Hope you're able to be back here more regularly soon!

Those of us who can seen the lights in the sky, the lights other than the sun, know not what they are. Nor do we know why only ourselves and not all people can see the lights. But we know that the lights are part of this world and have been so for longer than humans have dwelt here. And they seem to trouble not with the petty affairs of man. WOW! That just came out of me. A wonderful image indeed. Happy New Year!

I hope your dreams for this year come true and that you have a happy year. I'm sorry I'm late with my comments but family have kept me busy of late and I have spent 10 days with my daughter in Christchurch. This is a beautiful capture with super digi fiddling to give it a very mysterious feel. Excellent work.
