Description
This photo was taken with a simple phone camera by my boyfriend. Even though it is a bit blurred I thought I would upload it so my friends here can me. I liked this one because of the setting. The museum has this place set up so you can get a picture of yourself in the setting of one of Vermeer's paintings. This is "Girl Writing a Letter". Of course I have no maid behind me, but I loved being the subject of one of the "Master of Light's"paintings even just briefly.

I do see some resemblance with "Girl Writing a Letter". Great image!

So nice that I 'met' you now, Katherine. The photo has a very warm mood in this setting, and you have very beautiful hair :). p.s. Just today I saw you added me to your favourite artist-list, I feel very honoured by that, so thankfully greetings from Jacomina-Mies . btw, we live in the province Limburg (in the South of it).

Limburg is a very beautiful area. I visited the Drielandenpunt there once.

Ok, I'm back in January of 2013 (lol---it's probably colder here in Chicago on March 25th, than it was in the Netherlands back in January of 2013---we've had a freezing winter). Great shot to post, I didn't know they had places to sit, like this. It's a very Vermeer room---not only because of the painting, but because of the light, which of course he made so famous. And it's nice to see the real you. (There are some artists here whose faces we never get to see. I posted a couple of me, but they're wayyyyyy back in my gallery...) Your boyfriend must know Vermeer's light, because he captured light crossing your body in the way Vermeer would. A delightful upload.

How great to personally find yourself inside a Vermeer! The graininess & blur create a kind of painterly effect, like slightly faded color reproductions of classic paintings I've seen in old art books & the light is wonderful...
