Description

it be twelve days after Christmas when Mardi Gras starts around here. other places around the world it will be Carnival. Same thing just differ names. anyway in the old days a lot of country people had to work on Christmas as it was they lively hood like trapping, fishing and other trades. But they will celebration Christmas on the twelve night after every one else did. anyway they was getting ready to start and i knew someone that was big in the celebration so i got a spot on the floor. i could not move around like the other photographers was but they give me a chair to sit so that where i was all night. the sun was going down so it was golden light.

They started something like that in Hilo but I never did attend it. It is very very small and no way compared to your Mardi Gras... Must be fun there. Aloha

It's on my Bucket List...I've been so close and yet never seen this wonderful thing. You have to plan to go a year in advance and it is so expensive to get lodging and all... But one day I will see this and I plan to celebrate 100% and take photos until I drop. This is great, Jock. Really wonderful to see the beginning. This isn't in New Orleans is it? In your part of the world, right? There might be a few great paintings in this for you.
