I remember getting candy from these sorts of devices! Mostly they were free-standing single-candy things, and you'd get a small handful for a nickle. Terrific image!

yeas ago when remodeling convenience stores some vendors would leave behind these machines and finally the office would tell me to throw them away. well, I would picked the locks and often there would be quite a bit of change. not knowing the value of the machines, I would throw them away. they can easily cost in the hundreds for one single unit now
