Description

This is for Byteline and Mgtcs. Byteline is a wonderful artist and inspiration in our community. Recently she posted some lovely Gypsy themed works. Well taking from that inspiration, I did a bit of research on the New Age Gypsy. That is how I came up with this piece. Mgtcs, this is your fabulous background with a bit of a twist. Mgtcs is another grand artist of our community. Thank you so much Monica for your wonderful gift of beautiful backgrounds. It worked out perfectly for this work. A bit more history for those that care to read on. The term Gypsy encompasses in part a diverse group of people including: Romani people, a group widely dispersed throughout Europe Dom people, an Indo-Aryan group Lyuli, a Dom subgroup from Central Asia Lom people, a group from East Anatolia and Armenia Banjara, a group from India Yeniche people, a group from Europe, living mostly in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France Sri Lankan Gypsy people Some even include Irish Travellers and Scottish Travellers. New Age Gypsy may be the latest addition. Perhaps derived in part from the Hippie movement of the 60's. Representatives of this movement came about some 25 years ago. Since then, they have adapted to changing economies and means of communication, and are fans of modern technology. It is the clash of old and new that makes their lives fascinating.
