This is a bit of an update. From humble beginnings my photography is steadily improving.I started out with a Kodak point and shoot camera and progressed to a Sony A-200 Digital SLR camera.Other equipment that i currently have is the following: Tamron 70-300mm lens. I think it may well be an ant because many of these birds employ them in a process called 'anting' where they push the ant through their feathers and the ant eats various smaller parasites.

Yes, it is right what whaleman wrote. I have seen blackbirds BATH in an anthill and jumping around, as I guess the ants were biting more than parasites :) Such a wonderful shot of these lovely birds :)
