Description

A capture captured this past weekend. When returning while walking around the dam i found these two Swallows perched on a dead tree on my way back to the control room.Wolfmanw pointed out that the lower Swallow has a ant in its beak. I did not even notice that it is a ant. After looking a second time on my upload in full zoom i only noticed the ant.So feel free to zoom in.Have a glorious day and week. God Bless.

Just to be different I would say that 'ant' is a type of wasp! Nice shot Christo.

I think it may well be an ant because many of these birds employ them in a process called 'anting' where they push the ant through their feathers and the ant eats various smaller parasites.

Yes, it is right what whaleman wrote. I have seen blackbirds BATH in an anthill and jumping around, as I guess the ants were biting more than parasites :) Such a wonderful shot of these lovely birds :)
