Description

I got this today in my garden! I have tried to watch the Teasel several times but got fed up before the Goldies arrived. Whenever I see them feeding and go for my camera they have gone when I get back. This is the second winter I have tried to get them in the garden on Teasel. I feel really pleased to have captured this shot after all the fruitless waiting. It was hand held too so even better. The out of focus houses accross the background are a little disappointing, but hey I got it at last!

Your hand held is giving this a softer focus which I think enhances this beautiful shot.

You certainly did! What a brilliant capture Kevin, and how handsome is he. The Goldfinches that visit my garden seem to prefer the teasel heads to Niger seed at the moment.

A superb capture and I know how you feel about missing all those great shots, they only stay still for such a short time.

Well done. IMHO I don't find the houses in the background distracting at all.

Super shot! The background being out of focus is a very positive condition, giving you nice background bokeh!

The bokeh out on the houses is really very minimal Kevin, I would not have known what it was until you mentioned it. I'd be proud to call this mine mate! As a side note, I used to breed variegated canaries, and teazle seed was used to make them sing. But was advised to be in small quantities in with the staple food.
