UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Wonderful shot! Love the history behind it as well.

Particularly nice to find it after the tracks are gone!

An excellent shot of a fascinating place. I like your composition very much. The crossing sign provides diagonals that divide the space very nicely. SO pleasing to the eye!

Great to have signs of old times still around.

Super cool shot....

I'm glad we still have Florida East Coast still running through our area. I enjoy the sounds of a train, and certainly don't mind waiting for them to pass through. I imagine if I lived very close to a track I might feel differently.

Reminds me of all the American old films :o) x

It seems that some of the older thing just get cast off and forgotten. Nice shot Bill.

What a fun reminder :-) One should think, that when they removed the tracks, they of course also removed this sigh. Funny they didnt :) And I am sure Morningglory would change her mind, had she lived close to a railroad track on an iron bridge. I tried that in Copenhagen with atleast 38 trains passing.... per hour.

A real shame over there.. Over here, they are re-laying some lines, there, shutting them down.. Mind you, unless you travel on Main Line train, the others are slow and boring! lol A fine reminder..

Great compo here, Bill; I like the sign in front of the old plant, that rusty funnel structure is a piece of art on its own!

Kind of sad, isn't it? A great shot, bill - well composed! Superbly seen and photographed, my friend! Now I'm hearing Arlo Guthrie's "Disappearin' Railroad Blues" in my head.

I agree with Rod. It has a sad lonely look to it. I think it misses its tracks. Nice work. I love the boldness of this.
