So many things that makes this an extraordinary image - but what really jumps out is the composition and lighting. One of your best.

Wonderful. I love the red to blue colour shift. Almost reflecting a doppler shift.

I have to concur with the apt title. It is indeed an astonishing view. You are certainly the Bryce poster boy, showing us all just what can be done with this programme if it is used to its full potential. The haze around the planet is particularly good. I often feel when I have had a play with Bryce that I have not come anywhere near to achieving a result I am happy with. Have you perhaps produced a tutorial about effects such as these? If you have, I would be grateful to learn from it. Aside from the richness of the final product, I am always intrigued by your design. I have commented before that I think you might share the love that many people have for Ralph McQuarrie. Whether or not that is so, you have still produced a look of your own in which I can see any piece and say "That's an Orbital". I could ramble on for a lot longer, expressing my admiration for little touches here and there, as well as the contrast of the pensive child against the vastness and grandeur of inter-stellar travel. However I will stop dribbling now and end off by saying that this is a exquisite piece of art. Huw T Carr
