I have no clue to the length of the tunnel, but much be near 1/2 mile it is on the East entrance

Yes I've been through this tunnel too. If I remember correctly it has some openings along the side but you are unable to stop, to get a look through them, as it is a controlled traffic tunnel.

I so am (sighing) when seeing such beauty that someone like myself would have to travel to go see and for you it's just an every day occurrence which is why I'm in envy as I'd love to have this as my everyday view....But I'm sure it's something your so used to seeing that it probably gets boring after awhile though I could be wrong on my assumption.... ~smiles~

Been there......bigger RV have to wait until there is an "all clear" to go through. Pretty narrow. We went through it going out of the park.

Great shot Richard. There is an opening halfway through and one can look out. So whenever there is a group of cars that drive through the last car in that group gets a baton (or something like it) and by the time the last car comes out of the tunnel the driver of that car hands over the baton to a park ranger. That lets the ranger know that all cars are through. But your photo looks like the tunnel has two lanes now and I don't know if they still do it.
