This is using the 'Posterize Lightness" filter preset 2 from Filterforge by Vladimir Golovin Lefthand pic is the original render, righthand pic is the applied filter

I like the posterized version. As a "cartoon" image, it has enough photorealism to be clear and yet enough difference to make it understood it is a cartoon. I'll have to look up this filter set if I ever purchase Photoshop.

That is very cool, and (to me) almost too subtle. Maybe applying the filter a bit more to the background would help? (just a personal opinion and suggestion)

Thanks Cedarwolf and Jean-Luc !! Yeah, the filter seems to be affecting his skin more than his clothes and the background. I'll have to play with it more

Filter Forge certainly works as well on the human figure. However, Jean-Luc's opinion seems correct to me. The background image seems barely affected. Still wasn't a toon photo hybrid your goal?
