I am a very new photographer. My husband (showell7 here on Renderosity) bought me my first digital camera Easter (2011) and we have been terrorizing just about everything we can together, ever chance we can. I love to try new things and have a list of photo ideas a mile long. Hopefully I will be posting some soon, but I have to admit, I go to the computer to do post work kicking and screaming!!Â

Hope you enjoy my work, I'm a firm believer all art is for pure pleasure and relaxation!!

Love it! And as to criticisms, your photo would be so much better if I had one of those gumballs in my mouth right now, LOL!

This has such a nice, rustic feel to it. I can imagine wood floors and the smell of that "Minwax" stuff or whatever that good-smelling stuff is that you smell in country stores. Anyway, none of that is in this image, but it's all implied. I think it's because of your use of light and color. I love this arrangement, well, the bit of it you're showing here. Framing/Cropping is such a HUGE part of stuff like this and for me, this is framed perfectly. You see just enough to get an idea of what you're seeing, but you're only shown the interesting bits; it's photographs like this one that work for me: they evoke as much as they show, and what they show is marvelous. Just look at this one. I love the dark green spheres. Gumballs/candyballs? Watermelon flavored thingies? And those mugs are just begging to a nice, steaming bit of coffee (or hot chocolate, based on how inhumanly cold Chicago is at this moment.) I like this! Oh, and that hint of blueish light that seems to be shining in from a window is really eye-catching, but it so soft too. It's nice bit of "rest" amid these vivid colors; that's one of those bits of composition genius that just always adds something to an already great image. I need to catch up with you gallery!
