My name is Clive, resident in Cape Town, South Africa. I am an amateur photographer who has been enjoying the medium in a more serious manner since 2003.
I took a trip to the UK armed with a Minolta Maxxum 7000 that I had inherited from my Dad.
Out of the holiday snaps, I managed to get a few that I felt were quite good, but had no idea of how I managed to get them 'right'.
Since then I have done a couple of courses in the darkroom and joined a local photographic society where I was on the committee for a while.
Hopefully I am getting it 'right' more often these days.
I have a Minolta Maxxum 7 and being tied into the lens system, the Sony A100 DSLR was my introduction to the digital world. This has recently been upgraded to the Alpha SLT-A55 and I have to admit that I have shot more digital in the last five years than film!
My daughter Kristen (Kris10) and son Sean (fotoSean) have accounts here too, in the hope that they will learn too and share my passion! Sadly they have been rather quiet of late, much like their dad...
August 2015 marks the end of my 3 years as coordinator for the Photographic section of Renderosity. What a wonderful time of my life that I thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you all for the opportunity!
Keep the smile alive,
Clive

Stunning capture Clive. God Bless.

I like the way the "lost" leaf is positioned against the greenery. Lovely composition!

I love photography in that it teaches you that nothing is actually ever lost so much as it's rearranged. This is a perfect example. A fallen leaf adding itself to...another scene entirely. It takes good eyes to see something like this and to recognize what it is, and you've got a fantastic eye, as it shows in your photography. This is what I like to call a poetic image in that it does visually what poems attempt with words. It works perfectly.

I love the composition: green and red.

I really like this shot alot. The composition is great. I probably would have taken the time to clean up the imperfections of the green to offset the the "perfect" of the green against the distrested decay of the red leaf, but I like it as is. Your lighting and DOF is fabulous as well. I have to say that Chipka probably made one of the most profound statements I've heard so far in this year "I love photography in that it teaches you that nothing is actually ever lost so much as it's rearranged." That just spoke to me and paralleled this image perfectly!
