Description

This is a vervet monkey. They are so cute but can become a real plague if you start feeding them. I captured this one a mere 3ft from where Kayla and I were sitting and eating cookies in September when we visited the east coast. He was just waiting for a morsel. The owners of the guest house told us that if we feed them we've got to bring them back home with us! LOL... Thank you for popping in and for your very welcome comments and favs on my last upload "Regal". thumb_2405831.jpghref> Carin xx

Stunning capture! One of these bit me once. If they lose their fear for humans they can get quite aggressive.

Monkeys are barrels of fun to watch but I never want to live with one again. Oh, I didn't tell you about having one living in our BOQ (bachelor officers quarters) when I was a Second Lieutenant...what a mess! Great portrait of this little guy.

He looks so hopeful...our biggest scroungers here are squirrels, cute but not as cute as these. Great capture!

I recognize these people. I hear that this expression translates to: "Hey...you! Over there! Gimme some of that good stuff." Well...I have that on rather dubious authority. That doesn't matter: I love this shot and I happen to like monkeys quite a lot. They're such elegant, little people.

Outstanding capture though they are like furry beggers (Hey, hey, gimme a peanut. How about some fruit? Are you going to eat that?)

S/he looks very cute and it might not have been bad to get to take it home. Kayla would have loved it! :>)
