Description

We got some pretty heavy frost a couple weeks ago. This rhododendron is next to the house, and a bit more protected than the rest of the yard. The way the leaves are drooping in the cold made me think of a dancer's skirt. They usually stand out more from the stem. This small bud will take center stage in May. CLICK HERE to see what it looks like as it blooms.

An evergreen of sorts, huh? At least 3-3 1/2 months before we see those beautiful flowers blossom once again. Nicely done:)

Beautiful capture, and I love the light coating of frost on the skirts! The dancer is just a bit chilly, that's all; she'll spread her skirts when she warms up again!

The leaves look very attractive with their dusting of frost even though they don't like the cold. How beautiful this one looks in full bloom. I hope the frost doesn't damage the bud at all though they are pretty hardy aren't they.
