Description

My friend Michael at Park Avenue in Arches. He's thinking "There must be something worthwhile to take a picture of out here. If I hang out long enough with camera in hand & think about it, I'm sure it'll come to me." If you're not a fan of HDR, you'll probably find this unappealing, as I decided to go for an extreme hyper-real HDR effect here. No particular reason, just felt like it... Please zoom

To me it starts to take on a painting effect but I still like it very much.

I like this much better than the painting effect but we all see these differently. I very much like this hyper-real HDR, as you called it. I have no experience with it but I assume you can control it so that the result can be between normal and hyper. If that is true I then start to wonder how this would look at different levels of HDR. It's a great shot to begin with so I guess I will find out eventually because the next camera I have picked out has HDR capability built into it. I look forward to playing with that!

(TIC) I can see his dilemma; the landscape is so bland and uniform, the sky is bleh! nothing looks at all nice, absolutely not a chance to get a cool shot. Nothing unique about this area .....ROFLOL! I think I'd be using up a full 4gig chip in this area alone This whole scene just pops out Great capture and cool effects

Otherworldly. I like it. And Michael adds a touch of reality. HDR is in my future:)

I like the hyperreality in this shot; I think the alien landscape is the perfect thing to use it on. Beautifully done!

Just start shooting, Michael! The light is going! I love this look. In your hands it's soft and painterly, as opposed to some others who get a harsh, metallic look that seems to come from a horror movie. This is beautiful, and the effect is perfect.

HDR is great when it works and it works great here! See a little blur on the right skyline in a few of the bushes that are close enough to notice. Great shot! Colors and sky are awesome. Lots of great photos to be had in Arches. Flew my balloon over this many years ago. Didn't get any photos unfortunatly.

I like the depth in this photo and I think that the HDR added to that!
