Description

Vue8Frontier/DazStudio/Photoshop Inspired by images and footage of discarded aircraft rusting by the hundreds in the deserts of the United States, this image portrays a deserted spaceport and ships being visited by a couple on hoverbikes. Figures are Michael and Victoria 4, with SapraShark outfits and Mosquito Flyers(all Daz3D and imported via DazStudio).Ships are an assortment of Cornucopia3D models, along with Petipet's AirHammer and one of my Wings3D models in the lower right foreground. All ship textures are modified, with additional rusted metal Vue materials added as a second layer to the existing ship textures. The background building is from the Star City bundle from Cornucopia3D. Sky,light and atmo are a customized preset. Postwork in Photoshop consisted of a slight gaussian blur to background for more depth in scene, signature, engine flares and resizing. Very good image, I really like the lighting and the overall feel of this piece. Ha, the more things change, the more they stay the same. We just love throwing things away...

I love the idea of fields of junked space craft, a great start to a story.

You have the knack of choosing exactly the right POV. Great visual story telling.

What would be cool would be if these were the remains of what used to be the vehicles that took us off planet in a time when we can no longer do that--a poignant reminder of what we might have been and can never be again. All the computer models say that everything is going to crash in 2030 or there abouts. That the world cannot sustain the current economic and technological model because so many resources will run out. Apparently, back in the early 1970s a very comprehensive modeling program predicted this would happen then. Several years ago, folks went back and re-wrote the program to include new information since then and same for the technology. Unfortuntely, the program still predicted 2030 and the same disasterous results.
