Description

How to ruin a perfectly good photo :-) Duxford 2009, Rob offered me a (seperate)bed for the night and now he can't get rid of me :-) Good friends are hard to come bye, I just wish I'd met you 30 years ago...cheers mate. Well let's start with the photo, taken right at the end of my first visit with Rob.We were just making our way to the car park, walked around the corner of a hangar and this was sat there...marvelous! I wish I'd gotten a few more pics but as you can see it was very popular and not many clear angles to be snapped. The model of same plane is 'ongoing', I may have to rebuild the wings as the texture map doesn't sit quite right, the roundels on top of the wings are a most perculiar shape for some reason. The display base is free by MostDigitalCreations, and it just wouldn't have been the same without Tryphons excellent RAF and Tommy gear (DoMus configuration) With limited time available at the moment I'm digging up some old (for me) unfinished models as these seem to keep me motivated, not so much hard work for reasonably quick results. The previous Southampton has been on and off for about 18 months, once I set too seriously it took longer to wreck it than it did to finish building it :-) So hopefully some more little gems on the way pretty soon. I will be uploading recent output once I can get around to 'breaking it up' and packing it.More from 'The Plant' and some more photos from last years Duxford and Waddington visits, yes I know "lazy bugger"!!

Actually, the juxtaposition of the two "scales" is pretty cool, and yes, good friends are hard to come by.

Fertile mind at work...little time, lots to do... Airshows are fun but wouldn't you like all the displays just to yourself? Neat photo here mate!

This is a real gem Neil and looks great with the photo reference. That's the good thing about the 3d world, you can leave things and come back to them when time allows. You are right about friends of course, true ones who stick by you even when things are not so good are so hard to come by.
