Description
Captured 1/17/13, very early morning, at nearby Holifield Park, the site of many of my nature and shadow shots.
Not exactly Talbot Heath/Woods, but I think it makes a nice impression.
Used a 16:9 aspect lens ratio to create the quasi panoramic image.
Uber cool in ZOOM.
Allaismalardik, and have a nice day.

Seems like a nice place for a stroll. Morning is my favorite time of day to be out with the camera.

A super time of the day to get this wonderful capture of the light and shade. I hope you have a great day too.

Wonderful angle of light giving you those rich shadows, Harry; and I like the hint of lens flare too. Beautiful capture!

Lovely to see a patch of green grass. Love the shadows.

16:9 makes for a very appealing layout. Like the way you've composed this and worked the rising sun into it...rays and all.

I love long shadows! Excellent capture. Lovely composition, light and beautiful shadows. I love their shapes with thin lines fanning out to cover large areas, but softly with windows of light. The light against the trees is soft to with the gentle feel of a new day dawning. Very beautiful!

I'm going back a ways now, since there's so much I didn't comment on from the past... I never tried a wide-aspect ratio, probably because I crop wide anyway; using it from the camera, I'm sure it gives you a lot more to work with. It's the right ratio for this shot, that's for sure...Ditto the comments above; and, with your son, it's great that you caught it with no humans. (As you say, it was very early.) But you also caught the morning mists, and the light is therefore both bold and very soft. And you got the sun partially diffused by trees---probably better for your lens; but mostly good as a choice; because it cuts up the flare into a bouquet of separate 'petals' (my metaphors are getting a little thick here), which gives us the wonderful fanning you get in this shot. It's panoramic, yes, and the light on the trees is almost painterly. A beautiful, fanning shot, and kudos for getting there this early. It looks like it was dew-moist there too...
