Description

I took this picture of a playground near the raging river today. It has been an unforgettable week in my home town of Bundaberg Qld. Australia. Our area has had 4 tornadoes & the worst floods in history. Our family is safe thank god.The armies Black Hawk helicopters have been lifting people off roves to safety. Some people are refusing to leave their pets , they will only save people. The hospital has no power & airlifting all out, a massive operation.I like many others will join the mud army for the cleanup when waters go down. What a mad world it is. I have been away for a while, but always think of you all ,hugs Glenda

I am glad you are ok. We had issues with people and pets too. When we had the hurricanes. One of them I had 7 people and 4 dogs in the house. I hope the recovery goes well.

Sorry to hear about the floods. It is sad when people can't take their pets. I don't know if I could leave them, either.

So sorry for all what's going on by the extreme weather conditions, and I'm glad to read you are safe, Glenda. This photo is exceptional looking, at first I thought these beautiful trees were standing in frozen water (ice though). But then I saw what you wrote. A great capture, and I'm with Andrea, that red is a very special addition to it.

surprising that you have internet. I experienced floods as a child, but luckily the water only covered 3/4's of the yard and our old house was spared. large water moccasins were left behind as the water receded. hope you will not experience the same

I'm glad to hear that you and your family are safe. We have been watching this devestation on our TV's. You have certainly had a terrible time lately. I hope the clean up can begin soon and you can get back to normal, though what is normal these days, the weather is definately changing isn't it. I like this capture you have taken, it says it all really.

Oh no, climate change rears its vicious head! I knew Australia did have severe hot weather, but knew nothing about the flooding and tornadoes that have devastated it. World-wide severe weather will be the rule rather than the exception in years to come. Despite the ramifications of it all, stellar perspective in this photograph. And good luck to you all.
