My corporeal form lives with my wonderful wife and six eccentric cats in beautiful Sedgefield, but my dreaming body is frequently elsewhere, exploring the fractal universe and marveling at nature's chaos. I love traveling to places that exist only as mathematical constructs on my computer and bringing back snapshots that sometimes remind me of the real world (whatever that means), sometimes of metamagical worlds we can visit only in our imaginations. I trained as a biologist and run a small company specialising in science publishing - writing, editing, illustrating and typesetting. For 3D world building I use Vue, Daz Studio and Poser, but I've also used Bryce since version 2 and done some work with Terragen, Carrara and Groboto. For technical illustration I use mainly Illustrator and Photoshop.
Thanks for visiting my little corner of Renderosity, and to everyone who has kindly commented on my images or added my works as a favourite, thank you for that too. Craig.

I could use some of that energy too! Love the light effect, especially how the rays appear digitally pixelated on the left side of image, and the low POV over the water is very effective...great work Craig!

Sigh. I'm such a rebel. I have always hated limits. 0o. Super job! ")

The benefit of nebula energy, of course, is that it isn't limited by planet-bound spell sources. It works even while crossing water, as you've so ably shown here. I believe your mage will find the energy source to be consistent, and impervious to everything but expansion and dissipation. Now as long as the container holds ... Excellent image! I love the mood.

Ok, now here you have a perfect example of your light. Amazing light. I'm not sure if the stardust is 'in' that orb---in the mage's hand---or if the orb the actual stardust itself (bigggg particles of dust, if that's the case!)---or what: But that orb is creating the most wonderful light throughout this image. And it's your light. I don't know how to describe it, but it's one of those lights that's 'you'. It cleaves the atmosphere beautifully, and casts an almost gold-leaf sheen over the piece. Beautifully done! And again, very fine detail hinted in the hill on the right, in the trees---one tree trunk quite bright and vivid---and in the oil-like feel to the water. Your ripples are like undulating oil-based plastic, they have the most visceral touchable feel to them. With reflections that seem like you just took a needle and swirled your way through the water. (The old swirl-patterned end-papers of old books---those swirl-aplenty patterned papers that people put in inner covers---were made by placing oil based inks or dyes on water, and swirling the dyes around until they made those patterns; then placing papers upon them. I've got some materials wrong here, I think, but the principle's there.) Beautiful, Craig! And the left background looks pixelated: I assume that's not degredation due to the 512KB RR limit, but rather a choice: Is that your way of representing analog to digital conversion? If so, bravo! A great little digital touch (or joke). And the boat swirls up with real grace, and the mage stands there covered in mystery... Delightful. And that light is something else---;ike liquid silk. A really delightful vision, Craig.
