Description

"I made it." I'm exhausted, running that long in armor has taken everything out of me. Thankfully I see both minions here as well, that's a relief. We duck and hide behind some walls working our way further into the ruins. I can hear the dragon in the distance, it seems calm for the moment but I know if it decides to cut loose and start leveling the area we don't stand a chance. "shhhhh." I quietly tell them to keep it down, I see a hefty wall still standing in the distance and point to it letting the guys know my intentions. They both nod letting me know they understand. We move slow and quiet down on our hands and knees staying as low to the ground as we can. When we reach the wall my heart drops, I see a massive shadow begin to cover the area. The dragon is here as well, I'm scared! I can hear it breathing and I'm pretty sure it knows we're here, why isn't it attacking? My instinct is to run but I know that would be suicide, as I try to plan my next course of action I hear the dragon begin sniffing the air. What came next was deafening roar, so loud I drop my hammers in hopes of covering my ears, the minions do the same. I assume we're done for when without warning the dragon leaps into the air taking flight. I look to the minions in confusion and see them looking back in the same regard. "I don't know what just happened but I don't think we should wait around to find out." I reach down and grab my hammers. "We can't go back the way we came, it destroyed the bridges. I think I saw a intact bridge over on the other side, lets head over that way." We quickly work our way over to the bridge, all of us keep checking the sky frequently expecting the dragon to return at any minute.

Excellent development of tension and mood in this fun and exciting fantasy action story! Perhaps she should wait, but perhaps she should swing her ax around that corner and blind him? Then run like ....
