Description

After several experiments, trying make a building in the terrain-editor, like Filip Stamate, without making anything anybody would think of as a building I decided to try with something more simple. A cave seemed to be a great, yet simple piece to make so here it is... Also, It was my first experiment with lights. With only the sunlight shining brightly outside the cave, the whole interior of the cave would be black. This image was meant to be part of the challenge "Make a scene from places where sunlight has never been" but since alot of sunlight came into the cave, I decided not to post it there. Comments is as always VERY welcome. If you have the time, please visit my gallery. Thanks for viewing :) Update : -Reduced file-size-

Great effort; the outside is totally real and the cave structure looks good if too dark on my monitor for much detail. My only suggestion would be to move the lillies outside - they need strong light and would not be in a cave. I'm fer sure inspired to do more with terrains.

It is very well done, my only suggestion would be to compress your image. 500kb is quite large...especially for dial up members...

I agree with the above. I can't afford the time for a 500K download for every pic. In the past, I've skipped over some of your pictures, because they were too large. However, I couldn't pass this picture up, it looked too good - and of course, I was right, it is VERY good!

This is awesome. The point of view out of the cave is inspiring. I agree with SacredRose and sittingblue on the size. If you have Photoshop, using a setting of 10 Maximum when saving as jpeg can reduce the image up to 70% without any noticeable picture loss...

This is excellent work (hence the "excellent" rating I gave it). The cave walls and the outside foliage look extremely realistic.

Awesome effort with beautiful results. I love the texture work on the cave walls, reminds me of slate. I wouldn't worry about the floating vegetation too much... they might not be lilies, could be something else. As always, you acheive fantastic depth with your imagery. Thank you for sharing!
