Description
Symphysodon sp.
Dana wanted to know what I was photographing in my last upload,I can't say for sure as It was a long time ago and at the time I was shooting for a book and some magazines but it could have been one of these, It's a Discus which at the time was a very difficult fish to keep and breed, today with all the knowledge gained over the years It's not to difficult.
I scanned this from a two and a quarter square transparency Its not as good as it should be as I can no longer remove them from the glass mount as at some point they got damp and stuck to the glass and all attempts so far have pulled of the emulsion.

I had a great many tanks at one point in my life. A superb photo! I remember that I considered these impossible to even attempt. I did manage to breed Angels, though.

Thanks Alan and a great scan. I agree about the breeding problems. I bought a blue/green pair and put them in with lots of flat leave plants and a dual filtering system (one outside and one under gravel). They told me to treat them like angel fish. Beautiful with black gravel and red foil background but not one single egg laid. Thanks again for the effort to create this posting!
