UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Lovely shot Bill. We saw thousands of these as we traveled down through Arizona to Phoenix in May 2011.

OHH! I love these cacti and it is such fun to see them between propertied and in gardens. AWESOME shot.

Wow! This is a veritable cacti convention! I can see them all in 10 gallon hats, sipping drinks and lining up at the buffet as they brag about who'd gone the longest without water. Great shot, and I love how you don't get the full impact until you zoom and then there they all are, milling about in 10 gallon hats....

Quite the view, Bill! - spectacular Cacti ... thanks for the extra info on them. BB I love all Cacti and Succulents and have lots of them growing around our property, great deterrent as a fence-line - the much faster growing Echinopsis peruvianus with large, gorgeous nocturnal flowers ...

Nice scenic shot of the wide open spaces, Bill. Oh yes, I'm sure familiar with this sort of thing. I don't know about the saguaro, but this looks like a dead ringer of the territory around my brother's house in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

That's a lot of sharps! Wouldn't want to come home drunk one night and try and sneak in the back way; it would be a lot like a spiky pinball game!

I agree with Corey, although I missed the hats. :P Full view is like discovering something that was hiding in plain sight. Wonderful capture of this convention!

Beautiful shot! I've seen these from train windows while crossing the US by rail. I'll never forget the sunset with these silouetted against the red sky. I wish I had had a camera back then. I had a small cactus like this when I was 4-5 years old. I cared for it like it was my baby, talked to it and loved it. Unfortunately it went lost in a move. My, was I sad - lost my friend. But, my brother had just been born and he came to be my best friend ever! :-)

A really lovely shot, Bill! I've always thought these big cacti were really cool! That's interesting information about the laws in Arizona regarding saguaro cactus.
