Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Quite a spooky one! Well spotted and captured. Did they look blue when you took the photo? If it is from your camera, you may have moved the white balance by mistake. I once did it on a series of landscapes. Luckily when I realised I had chance to go back and redo them. I had walked about 1/2 mile though. I would have given anything for a helicopter to pick me up, well before the end of that walk. My hip/knee and ankle joints where throbbing!

Stellar pic of this most unusual entity, A. I assume it's some kind of life form.

Ivy Holdfasts. Sounds like a determined young woman. I did one of these a while ago. They do look quite alien. The color variations in this image give it a wonderfully abstract look.

I would have sworn you did a color change here....really interesting looking.
MrsRatbag
They look like some strange organism! The colour could be something about the reflection of the bright yellow, as purple is the complement, as you know... it looks great, though, just the way it is!

Mother Nature creates some amazing things. This is a wonderful eye catcher, shape and dazzling color!

I would have sworn you'd done postwork to this, and was surprised to read your caption! I love the way it turned out, no matter how it got that way. Great composition and color!
