Description
At times, it felt like we were making our way through a maze & as we each explored different parts of it, we had to make an effort to keep track of where the other was. I'm not sure if it's possible to actually get lost out there, but it's definitely easy to get disoriented. On the way out, we had some differences of opinion on which was the right direction & it took some patience & careful observation to work it out. A compass or GPS would definitely have come in handy.
This is the last landscape I plan to post from my week in the southwest. I'll have one more photo from Bisti tomorrow, but it's a closeup of one of the few living things we encountered there. Thanks to all who took the time to come along on this photographic journey with me & left kind comments behind...

I can see it might be easy to panic; and if you tried climbing up on the rocks they'd likely break and slide away, possibly injuring you...badlands indeed! But so very lovely. Thanks for your wonderful tour!

I'm thinking ... just an idea, mind you ... that on the way in, I would take certain pictures that would allow me to see my way back out again. Walk to a turning point. TURN AROUND to see the view back the way I came. Take a picture with finger pointing to the proper place. Now I can "chimp" in the camera's back window and see where I want to go to get back to the car. That, plus the bread crumbs, ought to do it. Bill thinks we should get a pocket GPS. Did I remember to tell you I like the picture? I'm sorry this is coming to an end ... I've really enjoyed it! :)

A trail of breadcrumbs or a ball of string perhaps, to find your way out??!! Stunning series of images. I wish I had the wherewithal to get over the Atlantic to see this!

My wife is legally blind so I tend to explore alone - not a good idea at Bisti !!! Again thanks for getting your fellow hiker in this shot!
